When an idea sparks, I instantly know what medium will be utilized. To solidify my concept and its next steps, I may research and create a rough draft. My work begins with a light outline, establishing the subject matter, placement, and spacing. I finish the background before working on the foreground. Next, I create depth by building layer upon layer. I take as much time as needed to perfect the piece if a deadline isn’t attached. My artwork often incorporates realism and or impressionism, with an emphasis on color and contrast.
