She played Jess in an original student-written play called Beneath the Surface by Lake Zurich High School’s Studio Theatre class (2012). The production was based off a series of student interviews in which she wrote and directed a scene. Her technical specialties are in stagecraft, scenic art, scenic design, and lighting design. Williams was a lighting designer for Lake Zurich High School’s Peter Pan (2014). She was also Scenic Designer for North Central College’s Songs For a New World (2019). ARTIST STATEMENT
Environmentalism is important because humans and animals share a beneficial bond built on dependence. Neither can survive without the other, as if a higher power has given us significant roles to play in the environment. Theatre offers truth and humanity by showing the world and its people their true potential. Spirituality answers all of our questions, adding meaning and color to our lives. My work explores these subject matters, their beauty, and the importance of our spiritual connection to the earth.
The most notable people who have influenced my work are my family, friends, teachers, Claude Monet, Michelangelo, Luo Li Wong, Beth Cavener, Heather Knight, Mikael Owunna, Rachel Weisz, Brendan Fraser, Imagine Dragons, Jane Goodall, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders. My favorite mediums are graphite pencil, colored pencil, markers, paper, acrylic paint, canvas, digital photography, stoneware clay, raku clay, lighting design, wood, recycled materials, and everyday objects. My process involves research, organization, and planning ahead through sketches and visualization.
